The visit, which took place yesterday, aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration between the University and various institutions in Russia. Discussions centered on potential partnerships in staff and student exchange programs, knowledge transfer, and internship opportunities, among other areas of mutual interest.
Professor Lar, while welcoming the Ambassador, expressed the University’s readiness to partner with the Russian Embassy. She highlighted existing structures within the institution that could facilitate such collaborations.
“Our Centre for European Studies, the mandatory Foreign Language Programme under the GST courses for undergraduates, and our Faculties of Engineering and Science are all robust platforms for collaboration,” she stated.
She further assured Ambassador Podelyshev of the University’s full commitment to advancing the proposed partnership, which is expected to strengthen academic and cultural ties between Nigeria and Russia.
